Our customers are as unique as their floors and hence requirements differ. We pride ourselves on tailoring our service to suit each person within their varying personal requirements. Please do not hesitate to explain your flooring requirements, whether is just wood floor sanding and finishing, staining and finishing, polishing and buffing, removal and installation of new floors, vinyl, laminate, or floating floors.We also deal with suppliers of hardwood, engineered wood, laminate, vinyl, and other types of flooring.
How much dust is generated during a floor sand?
The sanding process is virtually dust-free. We have invested in Galaxy, Clarke, and Bona floor sanding equipment. We pride ourselves in being able to work in a clean environment. Nevertheless, some dust will be produced, but we are constantly vacuuming the floors to keep it to an absolute minimum. Full dustless is also an option at an additional cost.
Can you sand the corners? Staircases?
Yes, all rooms are completely sanded wall-to-wall, corner-to-corner. We have specific machinery for doing corners. There is no need to remove the baseboards. Staircases can be divided up into several sections: the step, the riser (the face of the step), the moldings, the poles, the posts, and the railings. When we provide estimates for wood staircases we break it down section by section. Wood staircases are done mainly by hand and that is why the cost is typically higher than floors.
Are your products non-toxic?
The water based latexes we use are non-toxic. For years floor sanders used Crystal which was banned in 2012 for being too toxicand then reformulated. We suggest against using oil based products, even though they are the cheaper option. Their safety and effectiveness after the ban is still up in the air. We suggest either Bona Mega, Masterline, or Bona Traffic HD varnish. The Bona Traffic HD latex is currently the best product on the market, and is 6x more scratch resistant than other comparable latexes. It also dries much quicker. Although used for commercial areas, Traffic HD works extremely well in residences. The initial investment in Bona Traffic HD pays off later down the road. It is suggested for those who have pets or children. Anyways, the wated based latexes we use today are superior to the oils in every way.
